My little guys tool belt

I had been promising my little guy a tool belt to match daddy's for awhile now, but with so many orders to fill, that sadly was put last on my list. Finally after he begged and begged for more then 10 minutes, and with a "you promised me" thrown in there, WE decided to make one together. I never sew with the kids around because it is just plain chaos, but with the two girls sleeping I decided to give it a shot. We used a pair of daddy's old overalls that were headed for the trash. I simply cut off the bib part and turned it into a pouch. I kept the buckles per my sons request and added another plastic buckle from my sewing stash. As you can see, it was very quick and easy to make. A total of 15 minutes was spent making it, but by the look on his face you would have thought I spent hours on it. Oh, I love how easy it is to please my little ones. Please, never change!!

Sewing with him so much fun and I learned that he is quite the little designer. His requests were to have a buckle on the front like daddy's and to have plenty of pockets for all his tools. I wanted to make a loop to hold his hammer but nope, that was not in HIS design.
I think we may bring out the sewing machine again and sew together, it was a lot of fun!

I think we better make this little girl one of her own, or we are going to have a lot of fights. Don't you love the boots?!? Its 90 degree's out and she wants to wear winter boots. It was just not worth the battle!

Destashing

It's finally time to destash!

I need room for the 50+ yards of fabric I just purchased this weekend.

Here are some of my new fabrics, aren't they pretty? Oh I just love them!

Needing a place to store all of these I decided to go through all my fabrics and get rid of the ones I no longer use and to part with some of my scraps. I will be listing them in my etsy shop, so if anyone is interested please go check them out. Oh, and I'm only charging for shipping costs and for the box. I'm not looking to make money off these, just looking for a new home for them.

Looking at all those scraps makes me want to keep them! I wish I had the time to make the little doll clothes, key fobs, stuffed owls and wreaths that I was planning on making with them.

Side note: My fabric scraps are all sold, sorry. They actually sold within an hour of posting them on etsy. I guess that is what happens when you post something for free!

embrace the camera {3 little hooligans at Grammy's}

We just got back from spending a few days at Grammy's house. While I spent the days sewing a way, the kids spent their days playing and being entertained by Grammy. It was a long two days, but I managed to get a ton of sewing done and the kids had a lot of fun! Thank you Grammy!!

But as you can guess, two days with no naps and having gone to bed at 10pm, I have three insanely cranky kids. But thanks to Daddy's suggestion of going to play in the barn before bedtime, the kids are now happy as can be. My little guy is out in the barn hammering a whole box of nails into a piece of wood. And my little girl, well, she is running around the house like this!

It is amazing how a box of nails and a pair of welding glasses can turn their moods around.

casserole carrier

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! You sure know how to make a girl feel special! I received a ton of emails (ok, so maybe it was only 6) wanting a tutorial for this beauty and well I just don't have time to put one together right now, sorry. And actually, I think this beauty deserves a real pattern! So we will see. But for now, enjoy the pictures and who knows maybe I will add a few of these and a pattern to my etsy shop in time for Christmas.

Here is what I have been sewing lately.

My first set of bibs that were shipped to NYC!!! I still can't believe that something I made is being sold in NYC.

A messenger bag for my sister-in-law's birthday.

One of the many gifts I made for my little niece's Baptism.

And lastly, here is the gift I made for the bride-to-be. It's a casserole carrier. I love, love, LOVE this! Seriously, she almost didn't get it. I love everything about it. The design is my own that I made up as I went along. I may share it with you, If I can find the time to put together a tutorial.

Oh, I just LOVE it!

The bridal shower by the way, was AMAZING! I can't wait to share the details with all of you. But for now, I have a lot of sewing to do and a ton of tomatoes that need to be canned and made into spaghetti sauce.

So what have you been sewing lately?

60 days from today...

It's wedding time!

My brother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law are finally getting married after 10 years of dating! WOO HOO! My husband and I are both in the wedding party, along with all of our brother and sister-in-laws. You can only imagine the excitement we are all having over this and well, maybe we are a little stressed too. But we won't talk about the bridesmaids dresses that may or may not be here in time.

I was asked this winter if I would be willing to grow some pumpkins for the reception. Of course I said "YES!!" See, we have two gardens. One where we grow all of our veggies (the one I post pictures from on a daily basis) and one for our pumpkins and squash. Normally we grow all of our winter squash and pumpkins there, but this year it is strictly WEDDING PUMPKINS!! Here are a few of the many pumpkins and gourds that are growing there.

How gorgeous are these going to be at the wedding reception?!?

And since we are talking wedding talk, we may as well talk about the BRIDAL SHOWER that is this weekend!! I am in charge of the decorations and as you can imagine, I'm LOVING it! I am finally able to put my love for bunting and pom poms to good use. I am also making them a scrapbook of their wedding. You didn't know I scrap booked did you? Those pictures will all be posted later. I can't spoil the surprise. Ok, and maybe I haven't started the scrapbook yet either! Right now I'm working on a HUGE order to send to Chicago and to a store in Philadelphia. As you can imagine, I am over the top excited about this! This is such an amazing opportunity for me. Well that's enough about my life right now. Hope you all have a wonderful week and I will pick a winner for the giveaway by Wednesday.
