Holiday Traditions

One of my favorite holiday traditions is the advent calendar. It was not something I did growing up as a kid, but it was a tradition I always loved the thought of. Last year we had our first advent calendar. It was filled with chocolate. This year I decided to make one of our own and fill it with all kinds of goodies. Here is the finished product. A little crazy looking, but the kids love it! My little guy can't wait to start opening the packages. He accidentally saw some skittle packages and a lollipop. Let the Holiday season begin!!

Just in time for Christmas

I finally finished some new Christmas peasant dresses. I'm embarrassed to admit that I have had the fabric for months and I am just barely getting around to using it. Christmas seems to have snuck up on me this year! Check out my store for more Christmas items. Remember, custom orders always welcome!

First craft fair was a success!

After a month and a half of sewing into the wee hours of the night, I was finally ready for the craft fair. I didn't set my expectations too high, so I was ecstatic when the end of the day came and I was leaving with a little more then half of my items gone!

Check out my booth and let me know if you have any suggestions. I already know of a few changes I want to make for next time. And next time may be in a few weeks, we will see though. Standing in the same spot for 5 hours was a lot for this rapidly growing mamma! Check out my friends booth, aren't her candles so beautiful and modern looking?

Cruising!

Our little girl is finally cruising. Of course her choice of "toys" to push around is mommy's sewing machine cover. I guess her love for sewing has already begun!

I had been searching for a baptism dress for my little girl, but hadn't found any that I liked. With her baptism this Sunday, I realized that I didn't have much time left. So, I thought maybe I could make her dress, what could it hurt right? Well, first things first, I needed material. With one kid sleeping, I decided to go fabric hunting in my closet. Jackpot!! I found a maternity shirt made out of white linen. It was perfect!

Here is the maternity shirt that I started with.

The finished dress! It only took me one lollipop and 4 episodes of Curious George to finish, in another words, one hour. It was much easier then I had expected and the finished product is exactly what I wanted. Who would have known my daughters baptism dress was in my closet the whole time.

Doesn't she look so sweet and innocent?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR LITTLE GIRL!!

my little guys first "TAR"

My little guy has been obsessed with guitars ever since he saw his uncle playing one this summer. Many of his toys and most of my kitchen utensils double as his "tars." When he saw this fabric today he was so excited. He said, "mumma sew me tar?!!??" Of course I couldn't say no to that. So, instead of working on a few custom orders tonight, I made my son his first "tar". I can't wait to see his face in the morning!

Want one for your little one? Check out my etsy store for one!

TRICK OR TREAT!!!

We had a wonderful Halloween! This year I decided to make caramel apples as our treats, YUM! We couldn't decide weither our little girl was going to be a pumpkin or a cat, so she was a little pumpkin princess by day and pretty kitty by night. With a tutu like that, you have to use it to the fullest! Our little guy was not doubt a scary spider! This year we made it to 3 houses, but by the looks of our bags, you would have thought we made it to 20! The highlight of our Halloween is always the appearance of our cousins, and this year was no different. Check out the gang and the hamburger :) We are now getting ready to celebrate our little girls 1st birthday on wednesday!!!

Love the bloomers and tutu? Check out www.Bellaclairebaby.etsy,com for the bloomers and www.HannahsTutus.etsy.com for the tutu. They are wonderful to work with and as you can see, so cute!
